The Diploma in Data Science and Analytics is a two-year programme under the Faculty of Computing & Information Systems (FoCIS).
It provides students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in data collection, statistical analysis, programming, and the application of analytical tools for solving real-world problems.
The diploma is designed as a foundation for careers in data-driven industries or further academic progression into bachelor-level programmes. -
Programme Duration:
• Two years (four semesters)
• Combines classroom learning, computer labs, and project-based training
Students are introduced to areas such as statistics, programming in Python/R, databases, data visualization, and applied machine learning. -
Admission Requirements:
• WASSCE Applicants: Passes (A1–D7) in 3 core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science/Social Studies) and 3 elective subjects (at least 3 credit passes A1–C6).
• SSSCE/GBCE Applicants: Passes (A–D) in 3 core subjects including English and Mathematics, plus 3 relevant electives.
• Mature Applicants: Must be 25 years or older and may be required to sit a Mature Entrance Examination.
• Foreign/professional certificates must be evaluated by GTEC before admission. -
