• The Diploma in Computer Science (DCS) is a two-year programme offered by the Faculty of Computing and Information Systems (FoCIS).

    It provides students with a strong foundation in computer programming, databases, networking, and systems design. The programme combines theory with practical training to prepare graduates for employment and progression into higher degree programmes in Computer Science and related fields.

  • Programme Duration:

    • Two years (four semesters)
    • Includes classroom instruction, practical labs, and project-based work

    Courses cover programming, computer systems, databases, networking, and emerging computing technologies.

  • Admission Requirements:

    WASSCE Applicants: Credit passes (A1–C6) in three (3) core subjects including English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

    SSSCE/GBCE Applicants: Grades A–D in three (3) core subjects including English, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

    Mature Entry: Must be at least 25 years old and pass a mature entrance examination.

    • A minimum of 75 credit hours is required for graduation.

  • This programme is ideal for students who want to build a solid foundation in computer science and applied computing.

    It equips students with practical skills and knowledge, and also serves as a stepping stone for progression into Bachelor’s degree programmes in Computer Science, Information Technology, and related areas.

    • Junior Systems Administrator

    The diploma also offers a pathway to higher studies at GCTU and other institutions.
