The Diploma in Information Systems programme provides students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in information technology and information systems to support effective business and organizational operations in the modern digital environment.
The programme equips students with competencies in areas such as computer applications, database management, networking, programming, systems analysis, and information systems support services.
The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with practical and hands-on training through laboratory sessions, assignments, and project-based learning.
Students are introduced to key concepts in information systems, data communication, web technologies, information security, and business computing, enabling them to understand how technology can be applied to solve organizational challenges and improve operational efficiency.
In addition to technical competencies, the programme promotes communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional skills required in today’s workplace.
Programme Aim
The Diploma in Information Systems (Dip. IS) programme prepares graduates with the requisite knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to launch a career in Information Systems. The programme provides the technical background to implement computer solutions to support business challenges.
Graduates will acquire foundation knowledge in enterprise information systems as well as skills in computer networking, information security, database systems, and web-based systems.

General Admission Requirements
WASSCE / SSSCE Applicants
- Applicants must have passes in six (6) subjects with an aggregate score of 39 or better in WASSCE/SSSCE.
- Applicants must have passes in three core subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science or Social Studies.
- Applicants must also have passes in any three elective subjects.
- WASSCE applicants must obtain grades A1 – D7 in all required subjects.
SSSCE / GBCE Applicants
- Applicants must obtain grades A – D in both core and elective subjects.
- This includes English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and any three relevant elective subjects.
Professional Certificate Applicants
- Applicants may apply with a Certificate in Microcomputer Technology or any IT qualification from a recognized institution.
- All professional certificates must be evaluated by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
Technical Certificate Applicants
- Applicants must have passes in six (6) subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and three elective subjects.
International Students
- International applicants may be considered for admission if they possess qualifications equivalent to the stated admission requirements.
- Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English Language.
Mature Applicants
- Applicants must be at least 25 years old and provide valid proof of age.
- Applicants must pass the Mature Students’ Entrance Examination conducted by the institution.
- Applicants may also present passes in English Language and Mathematics in WASSCE or equivalent examinations.
